WebProxy programs act as gateways to cache and speed up access to the web. MinkirriSite uses SquidProxy.

You cannot access external websites through minkirri without setting your proxies correctly. Only local "minkirri":/ web pages can be browsed without using a proxy. If your proxy settings are not correct, you will be redirected to this page when trying to access an "external website":http://www.google.com.au/.

When using the proxy port 8080, you get the full features of the minkirri proxy, including redirection to local archives when possible, and ad-zapping. You can also use port 3128, which bypasses all the extra features, giving you proxy caching only.
