To make NA "safe" for use -- restricting written files to a single
directory -- uncomment and modify the following line from the NA Makefile:

# CHOME		= -DCHANGE_DIR=\"/bfs/nahome\"

An example setting might be:

CHOME		= -DCHANGE_DIR=\"/bfs/na/files\"

Note that the quotes must be escaped with \.

Setting this option makes NA read and write files without a path from
this directory by default.  The user may still read files in other
directories, but writing is restricted to files (other than . and ..)
in the specified directory that do not have "/" in them.  If there are
links in this directory to files in other parts of the system, these
files can be overwritten, so you will want to prevent users from
creating such links.

To use NA with a pager enabled, define UPAGER = -DUSE_PAGER in the NA
Makefile (this is default).  Users may optionally set a PAGER environment
variable to specify the program to be used as a pager.  This program must
read from standard input and write to standard output by default.  If
this variable is not set, then the pager is turned off.

setenv PAGER less
or
setenv PAGER more
or
setenv PAGER pg

The last example is suggested for use on System V machines.

If you are using sh rather than csh, then you will need to set these
variables in a different way.  For example:

PAGER=more
export PAGER

disabled), removed -DSPLIT_LINES from the SPLIT line in the NA Makefile
