Shady's Tail, Er, Tale chapter 8 - Shady's Search
ETTING OME O LFANDRA
Shady followed the light all the way back to the northern edge of the continent he had arrived on. The light stopped at a beautiful rainbow that extended high into the air. Shady looked it over and easily spotted the rock hovering 20 feet off the ground. He turned back to human form, remembering to land first, and telekinetically pulled the rock to him. He held it for a minute and tried to figure out what it did. "Well I don't feel any different" Looking off in the distance he saw a Splat, a strange blob of something that Lave had told him about. *Maybe I use the rock on that*
He stealthfully, snuck up on the splat, getting a closer look, it resembled something along the lines of: like someone had taken a hand full of jelly and dropped in on the ground, then put eyes and a squiggly mouth on it. Very unusual creature.
He snuck up behind it and held the rock out. The rock began to glow faintly, the Splat turned around and faced Shady. The splat got a mean look on its face and it leapt through the air toward this attacker. The rock flared up and the Spalt shined purple for a second and then turned to stone. Still airborne and now petrified the splat hit Shady square in the face and knocked him out cold.
Shady awoke a few minutes later and looked at the stone splat lying next to him. Rubbing his head he told himself "Ok, this one petrifies things. How nice..."
He put it away and held out the brown rock "Now then lets go with complimentary colors, where is the yellow rock." The light shot out and headed south toward the plains.
Changing back and taking flight he followed the iridescent ball. It stopped in the middle of the plains. Shady looked around but saw no sign of the stone. "Well? Where is it?" He asked, the light responded by shooting down into the ground, and then coming back up. "You mean I have to dig for it?" The light bobbed in mid air as if nodding. Shady groaned and began digging away at the ground.
After covering himself and the nearby area with a ton of dirt something glittered from inside the hole. Shady turned back to his human form and picked it up. Climbing out of the hole he swore to himself "This thing had better be worth it." He held the rock out "show me what you can do!" And was instantly blinded by an intense flash of light. "Ow, ok, bright piercing light, this is a good one." He layed down and waited for his vision to return. "Hope Lave is having as much fun as I am."
