Saga and Christi's Journey part 1 - Wings

Saga wondered how he got himself into these situations.

This morning, he was out for a walk with his friend, Christi, talking to her about her new station on the Dominance. During the middle of the conversation, the dimensional disturbance that was wreakink havok caught up with them, and deposited them somewhere that even Saga didn't recognize.

They found themsleves sitting on the roots of a enormous tree in the middle of a lake, surrounded by the ruins of what was obvoiusly once a great city. Saga's companion looked around and said:

"Saga, I feel something here. The city is dead, but there is still _something_ here."

Saga felt it as well, though said nothing. There was a lage amount of spiritual energy in the air, as if the souls of those who lived here continue to haunt the ruins. Saga also knew that those not in tune with the nature of this power would be changed, either physically or mentally. It was at that moment that this fact became all too apparent when his Callian companion doubled over and kneeled in pain.

"Saga, what's happening? Saga. help!"

Saga knew that even he could do nothing, but could only watch as two slits appeared in her uniform, right between her shoulder blades and spine. in between those slits, Saga saw a well-known holy symbol, the crest of the high paladins, drawn out in golden light. Then suddenly, with a scream and a spray of purple blood and feathers, a pair of white wings burst forth from her back. Saga decided that he had seen enough. and yelled for whoever haunted here to come out and asked why this transformation had come to pass. An answer did come, in a voice that was familiar to him alone.

"I made the transformation into something suitable, Caldeon. Or should I just call you Saga now?"

"General Xane..."

"I see you still remember, old friend."

With that, an apparition of a middle-aged paladin appeared, floating pefore the pair.

"Xane, I'm glad that you could do something where I would fail, but, where are we, and why are you here?"

"This was my city, old friend. Maybe you could stay a little while, introduce me to your friend, and we can catch up on old times. What do you say?"
