Keh'tel's Story part 1

*zonk*

Keh'tel grumbles irritably, rising slowly out of sleep. Things do not normally go zonk. What was that zonk? He sighs and opens his eyes to find the source of this zonking.

"This had better be good," he growls, then his eyes go wide. He had been catching up on sleep under a tree when he heard the zonk. When he opened his eyes, he was surprised to find that the tree was missing. He was even more surprised to find the grass missing. Indeed, even the sky seemed to have gone AWOL during his nap. Normally, even light footsteps in his vicinity will wake Keh'tel, so he is naturally quite shocked to find that an entire setting has snuck away without his noticing.

Then, as he becomes less groggy, his brain begins working again, and he realizes that the disappearance of the entire background must have coincided with the zonk which woke him. Ah yes, it's all coming together now.

He blinks away the last bit of sleep and looks around at his surroundings. They seem to be metal. Lots and lots of metal. And more metal. Beams of metal, machines rumbling away, computer banks clicking and humming happily, a metal ceiling, metal walls, even heavy metal doors.

The doors seem to present a problem. Keh'tel is not a large dragon, but he also isn't a small one. He could make it through a set of double doors, but not these small single doors. As he looks more around the large but slightly crowded room, he sees no windows. The only light comes from fixtures in the ceiling.

As his brain finally returns to its normal wakeful state, he puts all the information together, and his brain spits out its final assessment of the situation.

"This is bad."
