ETTING
OME
LFANDRA
As they walked outside, Jehann
took in the lovely site. It was sunny out, and everything looked bright
and alive. The landscape was of wild grass and flowers of every color.
There were trees every so often, full and green. Not too far off was a
small pond. She walked with Erich down the white, granite steps. As they
walked onto the ground, a voice called toward them. "Where are you two
going?"
"Oh, hi momma! Jehann wanted
to find Rashad and I was taking her to him".
The dragon looked to see the
woman the boy was talking to. She did not look anything like him. The woman
was of an elven nature, with lengthy, silvery brown hair. She had green
eyes and wore a long, grey embroidered robe; underneath it were purple
slacks with knee-high brown boots. She wore a necklace with a golden pendant
of some kind, which matched the same symbol upon the purple head-band on
her brow.
"Erich, go inside
and clean yourself off better".
"But, momma!"
"Go."
"Hmph, bye Jehann."
"Thank you for
helping me Erich."
The boy mumbled a welcome
and walked up the stairs, going back inside. Smiling, the woman shook her
head.
"That child sometimes.
I am Genivarah Ani Laganhasikome. You may call me Geni Long. I'm the current
head of Nirakai Meesha."
Geni Long gave
Jehann a graceful bow, in which Jehann returned. "Well, I'm Jehann Kashatrentica,
but you may already know what to call me."
The elven
woman nodded. "Yes, Tehrann told me".
"Tehrann?"
"Sorry.
Tehrann is Rashad's real name, he goes by Rashad because it's what I called
him the first time we found him. We didn't learn his real name til later
on", Geni Long watched Jehann's contemplating look," Sounds a lot like
your own name, doesn't it?".
"Yes, yes,
it does. Are you saying that he might be related to me?"
"Oh, from
your look, I think you may know that answer better than I."
Jehann found
herself staring at the elven woman for the longest while. She noticed something
walking toward them. Rashad, also known as Tehrann, stopped and gave her
a long look. The realization came over Jehann like a wild storm.
