"What?", Jehann finally said. 'He
speaks the same tongue as I.' Of course, she was a little surprised to
hear Rashad and Avin'kar do the same, but it didn't come to mind until
now.
She watched the child start
to sulk. "Oh, oh, I'm okay, see! Just playing with you. I'm just fine,
so don't look like that."
"Really?"
She nodded brightly, "Just
wonderful".
She smiled as the boy seemed
to perk up automatically. He dusted something of his blue tunic and grey
trousers quickly. "Heh, I was playing outside. My name is Erich! You're
Jehann, right?"
"Um, yes.....how did you know
my name?"
"Rashad told me."
"Is he alright?"
"I guess so. My momma said
that he was still too stubborn for his own good and he started to argue.
She bopped him with her cane and told him to shut up so she can heal him.
She doesn't hit people who aren't okay, so I guess he is. But, when momma
hits people, they don't like it very much. He didn't seem to like it much.
He never does, so, yay, he's okay", the boy concluded with a cute smile.
Jehann had a hard time
trying not to laugh. She could just see his face now. Shaking her head,
she looked at Erich. "Can you take me to him?"
"Uh huh! Follow me!"
The blue dragoness crawled
out of the bed and followed the little boy out the door. They walked into
a huge cavern. Looking around, there were other doors every so often. The
greyish cavern walls were somewhat polished. The highest point of the ceiling
was a circular, stained glass roof. The light that filtered in was of many
light colors. Basking in the colors as they walked seemed to comfort Jehann.
The walls were covered with ancient carvings, paintings and tapestries,
depicting
scenes in high detail. The floor was tiled with
a red-orange stone. Noticing Jehann's curiousity, Erich started to talk
on and on about the place, how big it was, who lived there, everything.
Jehann concluded that this place, called Nirakai Meesha, was a place for
learning magick arts or such. The place was very old and by what her little
tour guide said, incredibly large. Those who lived there were teachers,
students, and guests of every kind.
Erich
soon lead her to a set of big, metal doors. They were decorated also, a
strange type of picture writing upon them. "Okay, he's out here!"
