"I think this is a good time to leave,"
Jehann said, not letting her eyes leave the red dragon. "Rashad.........Rashad?"
She looked at the other dragon from the corner of her eye.
Rashad looked very angry and
distraught. He looked over the body of the dead dragon, and rose to stand.
"Avin'kar, you........... I'll...", he snarled.
Avin'kar gave him a look with
a sadistic laugh. He cocked his head to the left, just watching the blue
dragon. "Oh, and what shall you do to me? Will it bring back your annoying
friend here?", he said, poking the corpse with his tail. He looked to Jehann,
"Or, shall you sick this new one on me? Doesn't matter anyways, now does
it? Just pathetic, really. Your friend was very pathetic, letting me kill
him and...."
"SHUT UP!!!"
"Wait, Rashad!"
Rashad roared and charged at the
gloating dragon. He was close to reaching Avin'kar, when a large cloud
of black smoke appeared. As soon as it cleared, nothing was there. The
blue dragon slowed his charge, nearly having a run in with the rough boulder
that sat near the dead dragon. He gasped for air, looking about. "Where
did he go!?"
Jehann scaned the area. Nothing,
not one hint of red. As she continued to look, the dark clouds began to
move away, letting a rising sun appear. She shielded her eyes from the
bright rays. The dragoness looked to Rashad and frowned. What earlier thoughts
she had of going home vanished. 'Poor guy'.
The male dragon was
on his knees, watching his friend. With his head down low, he tried to
hide the tears flowing down his face. As Jehann made an effort to go over
and help, she saw a dark shadow near the horizon, going higher. She shielded
her eyes again. 'What is that'.
As she continued
to watch, Rashad sighed. He looked to the redden grass. His eyes widened
as he notice a shadow from overhead. Something was coming from the shadow.
