Jehann flew through the sphere into a vibrating,
green tunnel; within it were colorful energy rings, ranging from
red to the end with yellow. In front of her was Rashad and beyond him was
the beach shore of Koonruin. Rashad began to falter in front of her, almost
hitting the bottom of the magickal tunnel. As he did, he lightly brushed
against the rings. They contracted and zapped him, then expanded back.
He let out a howl of pain, and tried to gain more balance. The blue dragoness
hurried herself toward her brother. She dove beneath him, and pulled up;
pushing him back into balance. Rashad looked down at her weakly, as she
looked back with a smile. "Need some help?" He heaved a sigh and looked
back.
Avin'kar had just flown through.
He grinned and laughed, "Haha! You think you can get away, did you!"
"Rashad! Look!"
He looked about to see the
whole tunnel contracting, the end opening becoming smaller. "The tunnel
is so long becuase Geni Long prolonged it to keep it open ", he explained,"
The portal is closing, we have to hurry through or get lost in here."
"Well, hold on to me, we're almost
there."
"Jehann, I'll slow you down."
"Just do it! Or else I'll never
forgive you", she cried.
He obeyed relunctantly, letting
his body rest more on Jehann's back. She gasped a bit, and continued to
beat her wings as strongly as possible. Everything was on her; she had
to keep up her pace to get them both through and to keep far ahead from
Avin'kar, who was gaining speed. She continued to hear him cackle. Closing
here eyes, she flew faster. 'Come on, come on, don't quit on me now.' "Jehann,
we're there."
She opened her eyes. The end
was near, but the opening had become considerably smaller, loosing it's
circular shape. It was caving in.
The blue dragoness roared
and started to beat her wings faster; striding longer. The opening was
going to close any second now. She closed her eyes again and felt the sudden
kiss of wind hit her head on.
Avin'kar was almost upon them, he was almost there. Suddenly, as they made it through the shrinking opening, it caved and was gone. "What!?", he screamed. He twisted around, but there was no other openings. He felt his heart beat faster. "No, this can't be!" He looked about himself and whimpered, "Can't be."
Jehann laid on the shore, gasping
for breath. She picked herself and wobbled a bit before walking good. She
had never flown so fast in her life. She looked around and gasped. "Tehrann!"
Rashad laid there, not moving. The
dragoness rushed over him. "Tehrann?" She nuzzled him a bit. He coughed
and looked up. "Are you okay?"
"Me?", she said, "your side."
Before another word could be said,
as rush of wind hit the ground. An anomaly. Jehann looked to see this time
a pink orb of mist; swirling and expanding, like it was alive.
"Je....hann", he spoke,"the bags are over
there. Get out the map and make that thing take us to Averry."
She looked at him and thought about what
must have happened to Avin'kar. "No, I have a better idea."
