ETTING
OME
LFANDRA
A eerie calm had settled around the three.
The wind had calmed to a complete stop, whilst the sounds of the forest
seemed to fade. 'I don't like this', Jehann thought. She looked over to
Rashad. He, too, was scanning the skies above now. Seconds past, which
seemed to have been a lifetime. All of the sudden, a whirring sound became
apparent. It was coming from the RealmGate. "You have to go now!", Geni
Long commanded,"It's beginning to close!"
"She's right, Jay. We must go now",
Rashad agreed," I know, but we have to."
Jehann looked to the sphere. It
was beginning to distort. She took a deep breath. "Fine."
Without warning, an explosion erupted
from the left. Parts of trees and patches of ground went flying as an angry
roar followed. Rashad twisted his head back and growled under his breath,"
AVIN'KAR!"
The blue dragon moved away from
the portal toward the incoming red dragon. "Rashad! What are you......"
"Go on, Jehann! I'll take care of him,"
he yelled back to his twin. He looked over to Geni Long quickly, "Try to
keep it open as long as you can!"
"What?! Are you nuts! I am not leaving
you behind!"
"Jehann!", the elven woman yelled at the
dragoness, "You have to. Something has to go through it, so I can keep
it open long enough for him."
The blue dragoness stared at the
elf, and looked back up at the sky. Avin'kar and her brother were now engaged
in a mid-air dogfight. Fireball vs. lightening; followed by constant strikes
and close call slashs. Soon, the crimson one disappeared in one of his
trademark moves; a puff of smoke. Rashad twisted around in the air, letting
out a frustrated roar. Jehann breath caught in her throat. What can she
do? She had to go through the portal, or else they'll loose the closest
link to the next gate in Parnth. But, what was 'Kar doing? What if he tries
to strike Geni Long from behind, or has gone though the portal, waiting
for her? 'Just wonderful'. She exhaled, and turned to the portal, which
was now wavering; hardly keeping it's spherical shape anymore. 'Come on,
Jehann. You..'
Her thoughts were cut by a sudden, hot
sensation around her neck. It was her nacklace. "Rashad!!"
Jehann looked to see Geni Long yelling
out; her eyes went wide. The male blue dragon was falling toward the ground;
his side with a huge gash upon it. 'How!?' Above, another dragon, a purple
one this time with silver armor and an armored furry rider, flew high.
Avin'kar was somewhat away from the area, with a berserk grin flashing.
Geni Long looked to the dragoness.
Instead of saying anything, she stepped aside. The dragoness eyes glowed
pure gold. Suddenly, Jehann charged away toward battle. The elf looked
to the distorting portal, and gathering a fair amount of energy, shot it
with a bright blue beam.
