"Do you really have to go?", Erich pouted.
The cheetah-like boy stared sadly at Jehann, as she took two compasses
out of a wooden box.
They were in the supply chamber
of Nirakai Meesha. The sun shone in through a long pane of glass that lined
the area near the ceiling. The smooth, stone walls were covered with metallic
shelves. The room was, also, filled with self-standing shelves; numbering
six aisles with a barrel in each corner of the room.
"I'm sorry, Erich," she sighed,"but
I have to get back home. They must be so worried about me."
Jehann was leaving today. Geni Long
had mapped out the three worlds and RealmGates that the blue dragoness
had to pass through. She could go to Alfandra directly from there, but
with Avin'kar; they had to be cautious. The blue dragoness gave Erich a
bright smile. "I'll be back to visit a lot", she smiled brightly at him.
He gave her a weak smile in return.
"Rashad", she called around a corner
of an aisle. Her twin brother looked up from the lower shelf in the next
aisle.
"Yes?"
She walked over to him, handing
him the compasses. The male blue dragon takes and places them into two,
brown travel bags. " You don't have to journey with me, you know."
Rashad shook his head, a few slivers
of a deep bluish-silver fringe settled between his golden eyes. "You /harass/
me, and then leave me?", he laughed, "I'm coming. Besides, your my twin
sister and we've been apart since birth, I just...."
"I know", Jehann answered silently.
After a long silence, Jehann
spoke up. "You're going to visit me, right? After all this is over."
"You know, I will", he replied," all the time.
I'll just use the direct gate between our worlds. You'll do the same, of
course."
She nodded her head, "Everyone will be
surprised to see you. You."
"What?", he asked.
The dragoness shifted a bit. "You want
to go see our family, too....right?"
For a second, he looked away. He sighed.
"I don't know, you think they want to meet me?" "Oh, don't be so negative,
Tehrann!" "Fine, fine, Jay. Don't go...", he paused, "What did you call
me?"
"Well, Tehrann. Can't I call you that?
I mean, if you don't want me to use your real name, that's fine."
Jehann watched her brother. He gave a her
a warm smile. "Go right ahead."
A loud crash sounded in the aisle behind
them. They went to look, only to find various items on the floor and Erich
in the midst of the mess; with a metal bowl on his head. He tilted
it up. "Um, I slipped?"
Rashad shook his head as his sister giggled.
