ETTING

LFANDRA
The waves crashed against
the rocks, sending a spray of fine mist everywhere. The sun was setting,
changing the water from blue to a soft violet. The clouds ranged from red
to orange to pink. White, native birds flew from the shore noisly. Jehann
laid on her stomach opon the shore. Her head was on a weather-beaten, dark
grey rock. She watched the setting sun. As it did, two moons, one blue-green
and the other white, appeared in the sky. She thought the spectacle was
neat, having two moons instead of one.
"Hey, look what I got!!" Jehann looked
over to the voice. "It's very nice, Kammi." The little, elven girl beamed;
strawberry blonde locks dancing with the wind in front of hazel eyes. She
lifted the big seashell to her mouth and blew something off of it.
"I have a better one!", Erich yelled.
"Do not!" "Do too!" "Do not!" "Do too!" "Not!" "Too!" Jehann listened to
them bicker and laughed. Soon, something hit her on the head. "Ow!" It
was the seashell. She looked over to see Erich and Kammi, who looked about
curiously. "He did it!" "What!? You made me let go!" "Nah uh!" "Yea huh!"
Another arguement started.
The blue dragoness shook her head, as the other children gathered around
the pair. Within a few seconds, sand and water was flying about. Laughter
filled the air as the battle ensued. Jehann smiled. They needed as much
fun as they can get; spending a good portion of the day studying and practicing.
Then, a huge ball of sand and water hit her dead on. "I am not a target!",
she yelled as she wiped it off. She got up quickly and rushed over to join
in. It reminded her of home. 'Ye gods, I miss it.'
At night, Nirakai
Meesha seemed like one of those huge universities that one could easily
get lost in. It was lit brightly, the laterns that surrounded the grounds
were now being lighted. Jehann watched the last of the children crawl through
the massive, iron gates. Finally, she walked in. They closed with a loud
clang which could wake the dead, but it didn't seem to bother anyone. The
older members of the establishment gathered the young ones up, to take
them to get clean up for dinner. "Geni Long and the others say you'll be
leaving soon." Jehann turned to face Rashad. He walked up to her. "Yes,
I am",she replied,"Not to Alfandra though. They say I must pass through
3 RealmGates."
They started to walk
together around Nira's grounds. "It's dangerous, you know that", he warned,"Passing
though worlds isn't safe and the gates are on time intervals. They only
appear for so long." "Whatever gets me home, Rashad."
"Isn't there an easier
way?", he asked. She nodded, "Yes, but Avin'kar will be after me. I can't
lead him start to Alfandra. Who knows what or who he'll bring." "I just
don't want you getting lost, Jehann.", he explained.
"Oh",she said,"I thought
one shouldn't care about someone they don't know." Rashad gave her a long
look and continued to walk. They walked in silence a bit until it was broken.
"I don't think you want a brother like me, that's why." "What's wrong with
having a brother like you?", she asked.
He stopped and looked
to a nearby lantern. His golden eyes flickered in the light. Stretching
out his wings, he looked back at the blue dragoness. "Ever since I was
of 10 seasons, I've been fighting for my life. There's blood on my hands
I can never wash off. Hell, 'Kar is here only for the fact he has a personal
vendetta with me," he sighed,"He'll kill you if he knew....."
"That what, I'm your
twin?", she smirked,"If you haven't realized he already wants my head."
"It's worse on you, though." "Pasha! Who says life is easy. Besides, no
words can stop the fact that since we were born, you've been my brother."
The blue dragon sighed.
He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. Jehann moved backward until
she was behind him. Then, she charged. "You've always been if you never
knew!!" She jumped onto her startled twin's back, wrapping her arms around
his neck. Rashad let out a surprised yelp. He almost fell forward, but
instead he fell onto his side. A loud *THUD* was the result. Jehann was
laughing her head off as she rolled off of him and onto her back. "You
should've seen your face!" She rocked back and forth with laughter. Rashad
picked himself up and shook the dirt off himself. He gave her a glare.
"Why did you do
that for!", he roared. The dragoness stopped her laughing fit. She looked
at him, bewildered. "It was just a little fun", she explained, "to make
you smile." His glare made her feel sheepish. She bite her tongue and got
up; dusted herself off and folded her wings back properly. 'I guess he's
really not the type.' "Sorry", she looked to the establishment, "I guess
we should get ready for dinner, now." She started to walk toward the main
building. Suddenly, a deep blue, scaled arm wrapped around her neck; drawing
her back. "Eeeep!"
She looked to see Rashad. He had a beserk glint in his eye. He pressed
his sharp, white talons against her neck. "I can't believe", he said darkly;taking
all the time in the world, "that I just got you." "What!?" He wheeled back
crowing in laughter. Jehann fumed. "That was NOT funny!" She stamped her
tail against the ground. "What, just a little fun. To make you smile",
he smiled. She blinked a couple of times. Rashad continued to laugh, gasping
for air. The blue dragoness looked at him as if he was crazy. Soon, she
started to laugh, too.
Far off, near the compund's surroundings, a lone black eye watched the draconic twins.
