Hespa's Story part 9 - Discussion and Distraction

Hmmm...very interesting...<casts a quick spell allowing him to retrieve a book from his lair> Ah, here we are.  <Shows Emma and Cira a book entitled "Real-Life Multidimensional Physics for Dragons".  Pages through, muttering for a while...>hmm..."Interdimensional travel, page 387."  <Opens to page 387, which contains exactly three words:  "Interdimensional travel:  impossible.">  Hmph.  That isn't a lot of help.  I KNOW I've traveled to RL a few times, and Emma's Here now, so...

**ah, but that's where the difference between written and unwritten universes comes into play....there are many different earths, but only one unwritten one, afaik....you may simply have visited a written earth, exactly the same as the unwritten one in every way....the problem with being written is, in most cases you don't actually realise it's happening, as i'm sure emma could tell you right now**

By now Emma is a short distance away, staring around her - and at her new form -  with every appearance of bliss.

She has obviously decided to take my advice and enjoy her probably short stay.  ];)  *dragonpride*

"Hmm?  Oh, sorry."  She returns to the group, looking only a litle sheepish.  "I just never realised how beautiful Alfandra is from your point of view!  No wonder you hate it when you have to leave..."

**yeah, well I never realised how *boring* alfandra is from *your* side....kinda loses something when it's just text, doesn't it?**

<sits and thinks for a while>

Wait!  This is a book on RL physics, where things like this are strictly impossible.  But Here, things like this ARE possible!  Whatever caused you and Hespa to switch places must be based here in Alfandra!

But what could it be?

**i think i know what caused it, and strictly speaking it wasn't based in either place....i was in thick air....normally, thick air doesn't connect to any part of the unwritten universe, but i think the connection between me/hespa and me/emma caused one tiny part of thick air to connect to the unwritten universe, more specifically to emma's location**

**i imagine that point had always been there, but it was so incredibly far from the parts of thick air that are familiar to me that i doubt i would ever have encountered it if i hadn't been searching for the missing alfandrans....since emma and i are more or less the same person, we obviously cannot exist in the same space and time, so my trying to enter *her* realm somehow snapped her into *mine***

"Perhaps the two of you sort of share the same soul and so there is actually only one of you but..."

"Something like that," says Emma, nodding.  "We're basically the same being spread between two different planes of existance.  One soul, one mind, two bodies, two lives."

*nod*nod*

I *think* I caught most of that...
